When a couple tells you to keep to certain basic parameters but basically surprise them when it comes to the ceremony, you’re not sure what you’re getting into. But since Ron and Sarah seemed very fun and genuinely, passionately in love from the first communication I had with them, I knew this would be interesting (a good kind of interesting). I got the honor of playing a fun part in this very blessed yet somewhat irreverent ceremony that reflected them and their relationship.
Having found a special spot a bit off the beaten track that they really liked, they enlisted the help of their grown children to set up a small altar with the northwest corner of Cathedral Rock directly behind. There were tears, they were jokes, there was touching poignancy, and most of all, there was a lot of love and familial bonds kindled and reinforced.
Thank you for letting me be part of this special day! Being an officiant is a special gig that allows me to meet amazing people and help guide them through one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives. And the jokes came at the most unforgettable moments within this most unforgettable moment!
